I hope.. ...

that the husband comes home early today. I wanted to go to the grocery since we are running out of food. In fact I don’t have anything to cook for tomorrow since I only have salmon in the ref. I wanted to cook it with sweet and sour sauce but I don’t have the ingredients right now. The husband is on duty for the whole week. When I say on duty, he is on call no matter what time it is. And he is also telling me that there seems to be a shortage on their man power since he works double time now to take care of customer call plus installation. His only consolation is that his mainframe skills are being honed.

Dubai Holiday ...

On our way to Kuwait, we have a stop over in Dubai for three hours, it isn’t considered a Dubai Holiday since it is just for a short time and our flight from Manila to Dubai was delayed, so the hours to roam around was cut. And man, the international airport of Dubai was huge that it took us almost two hours is going to our departure gate. I am not kidding. I have wanted to get a wheelchair and sit on it because my feet got achy with the walk. I swear I would not go back there because of the pain I have experienced. lol.

GLIS Box ...

I still cannot shrugged the thought that the GLIS boxes that I bought last year from a multiply seller are super overpriced. As I said in my previous entries, we went to Ikea last week and was surprised to see this..

GLIS boxes are being sold for 950fils ( in Philippine pesos that is less that Php 160 ) and when I bought mine last year I am not sure if it’s Php 300 for three boxes. Hmmp! A bit overpriced right?

Pest Control ...

As a homeowner I am always concerned about pest control. Especially since pest somehow jeopardized the health of family members and for me it’s also a sign of the absence of cleanliness at home. That’s why at the first sight of any pest I would make sure to control it. I don’t want any pest near our home. That’s why I am glad that when we arrived here in the pad of the husband, I don’t see any pest. Nah, it’s nowhere near Boise & Couer D’Alene, Idaho but rather here in Kuwait.

So Glad! ...

When I was packing I was thinking about the weather in Kuwait. According to the husband when we arrived it would be summer. The scorching heat of the sun will be expected. But considering the culture of the said country even if it is summer, I decided to pack leggings and shirts and pants for the little girl ( no shorts! ), as for me I have shirts, capri pants and jogging pants ( again, I told myself to forget about shorts and sleeveless shirts). I am glad I did because right now we still have a cold weather here. And not only that the air condition here is open 24/7 and maintained at 22 degrees. That’s why we always wear jacket. haha.

Web Hosting ...

Flashback four years ago, I did not know any single thing about webhosting. At that time I am a office girl struggling between my career and family life. And I should add that I am also a new mother. Way back then I am so focused on process maintenance and updates plus coordinating with Asian coordinators for a certain project of the company. It was really stressful. Because of my performance, my boss and everyone else on the office expects that I have answer to everything and I can do almost all task on lightning speed. But the stress caught up with me and I suffered burn out. Since the husband can already support us in with the income he is receiving abroad, we decided that I quit working and start focusing on taking care of our daughter.

Stop Converting! ...

Every time we go to the mall or grocery I make sure that I am bringing my cellphone which serves as a calculator. lol. The husband has been telling me to stop converting since it won’t do me any good. But I can’t stop really. There are times that I found the items here way cheaper as compared to those that we buy at home. No wonder a lot of OFW would try to packed their luggage with household items.

Did Not Push Through ...

Okay the supposed taxi ride was not push through. I guess the husband is still doubting my capabilities to roam around since I really am bad when it comes to direction. I easily got lost. haha. But we were able to hear mass. The church was full packed. After the mass, we were treated by the husband’s boss for dinner. Then we were off to find some nice lighting fixtures for the pad.

Taxi Ride ...

Later this afternoon, the little girl and I would be heading to the church. since the husband has work, we would meet him there. So, that leaves us to ride a taxi. I know the location and have been quite familiar with the way but I am still anxious since according to the husband almost all taxi drivers here does not know how to speak English. And I am telling the husband that the line ‘I won’t get lost because I can read’ does not work here. Because they have a different written language. Though the signs have translations in English still I am praying really hard that we won’t get lost.

First time ...

It’s my first time to pay our term life insurance online. In the past either I hand to the payment to the insurance agent personally or I do the over the counter payment. But since we are out of the country I tried to pay online. Unfortunately, I don’t know what happen the first time was not a success. I’ll do the payment again later after I confirmed that it won’t be a double payment. Thank God for technology!
